TXP Medical raised 250 million from UTEC and completed its Series A round. 〜Expand business in the area of data integration and utilization in the emergency medical field〜

TXP Medical Co. Ltd. (Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Tomohiro Sonoo, hereinafter "TXP Medical"), which develops the NEXT Stage ER series, a patient information recording and management system specialized for emergency departments, has raised 250 million yen in Series A funding in July 2020 through a third-party allocation of new shares with the University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners Co. (Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Tomotaka Goji, hereinafter "UTEC").  TXP Medical is pleased to announce that it has completed the Series A round.

Under the corporate mission of "saving lives with medical data," TXP Medical is developing its business with the aim of saving more lives in the medical field by circulating data through the integration of fragmented medical data and the creation of platforms. The company's core business is the provision of the NEXT Stage ER series, a comprehensive data platform for emergency departments that operates on hospital electronic medical record terminals and has been informally introduced and is in operation at 32 regional flagship hospitals nationwide, mainly emergency rooms and university hospitals. (As of the end of October 2020)

In addition, they provide medical AI modules and voice input technology to support clinical operations, research support services that utilize the know-how of their research team that conducts numerous academic studies and disseminates information, and medical data services that utilize medical data accumulated and integrated through their services in the development of new medical technologies, pharmaceutical industry, insurance business, and other areas.

The funds raised in this round will be used to acquire human resources to further accelerate the growth of our core and new businesses. Specifically, the company plans to expand the scope of its mainstay "NEXT Stage ER" series from large hospitals to small and medium-sized hospitals and will strengthen the hiring of engineers necessary for SaaS development in line with this expansion.

In addition, as a new business, TXP Medical has launched a medical data service utilizing a data platform built through the provision of the "NEXT Stage ER" series.

The NEXT Stage ER series is capable of acquiring and accumulating structured and anonymized patient data on approximately 1 million patients per year, from the point of emergency transport or telephone consultation to the hospital, to medical examination and treatment after arrival at the hospital, and outcomes*, making it the largest emergency medical data platform in Japan.

The new business is a medical data service that will utilize the big data on this platform for the development of new medical technology, the pharmaceutical industry, insurance business, etc. In order to promote the further expansion of this new business, TXP Medical will focus on acquiring skilled business development personnel.

TXP Medical continues to integrate and platform data from the emergency medical field, and through the utilization of medical data, is working to improve the patient experience and contribute to the development of the healthcare industry as a whole, including acute care medicine.
