Speaker 1: Dr. Yeung Pui Ning Pauline
(Clinical Assistant Professor, Critical Care Medicine Unit, School of Clinical Medicine, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong)
Dr. Yeung, a member of the Asia-Pacific Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (APELSO), introduced the collaborative project with TXP Medical to build a registry for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Her presentation focused on the use of optical character recognition (OCR) technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of clinical data collection for registry enrollment, highlighting its transformative role in advancing data-driven medical practices.
Speaker 2: Dr. Takayuki Kiguchi
(Deputy Director, Emergency Medicine, Osaka Acute and General Medical Center)
Dr. Kiguchi discussed the outcomes and future directions of the Comprehensive Registry of Intensive Cares for OHCA Survival (CRITICAL) Study, which has accumulated data from 23,698 cases over the past decade. His lecture highlighted innovations such as automated case registration systems and the use of short message service (SMS) for operational efficiency. He emphasized the importance of leveraging data as a shared resource and using it to generate evidence that can drive improvements in survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases.
Introduction of Speech ER by TXP Medical
Finally, Dr. Tomohiro Sonoo, CEO of TXP Medical, presented the company’s newly launched voice-input application, “Speech ER,” designed for acute care hospitals. Powered by generative AI, this application aims to streamline emergency medical terminology and data entry processes.
